The Conversation (2018) Republished in The New European (2018)

This article, written for The Conversation but republished in The New European along with numerous other media outlets around the world, presents some of my early findings from my PhD research regarding the military integration of the armed forces that remained in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the war. It describes how increased international attention on Iraq prior to the 2003 invasion uncovered covert links between the Iraqi Air Force and arms manufacturers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. This led to a complete overhaul of the entire Bosnian security sector and the unification of three formerly warring armies: A process which helped to stabilise Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
